New Year, New Beginnings, Same Cheerful Service

January 3, 2022

Happy New Year Arrowmen of Section C-6A!

As many of you are already aware, the National OA Committee created the Project Magellan task force in order to assess the impact of the changes within the Boy Scouts of America (BSA)—namely the creation of National Service Territories to replace the existing area and region structures—on our Order’s National structure. The task force worked since December 2020 through surveys, interviews, and lengthy discussion with OA youth and adult leaders from around the country in order to put forward a new two region structure for the Order of the Arrow. Recently, the names of these two regions were announced and region chiefs were elected immediately after the elections of the 2022 National Chief and National Vice Chief. A complete update from Project Magellan and the new region structure is available here.

This new structure will only change our region and section name, but not the lodges who are members of our section. Section C-6A will begin moving to our new name of Section E1, which is part of the Eastern Region of the Order of the Arrow. Our six member lodges happily remain Sakima Lodge (LaSalle Council), Kiskakon Lodge (Anthony Wayne Area Council), Takachsin Lodge (Sagamore Council), Jaccos Towne Lodge (Crossroads of America Council), Nischa Chuppecat Lodge (Hoosier Trails Council), and Kiondaga Lodge (Buffalo Trace Council).

We will begin to change our social media handles, website, and communications to OA Section E1 over the next few months and will completely adopt this new identity by our 2022 Conclave to be held April 22-24 at Camp Buffalo. Our mission and purpose as a section will remain to support and aid our member lodges in any manner possible.

If you have any questions, please feel free to inquire via the email address below. We are looking forward to a tremendous 2022 starting with our annual Conclave in just a few short months.

Yours in Cheerful Service,

Bryan Shaffer
