Introducing the first ever edition of the Central Region Chief’s quarterly letter to the Region: The Midwestern Missive. A Missive is an official letter, so I hope you enjoy the following words from our 2019 Central Region Chief, Brandon Stahl:
My fellow Arrowmen:
Great opportunities are among us! Today, female Scouts BSA units were allowed to start being chartered. This is also the first day that unit elections are allowed to be offered to Venturing and Sea Scout units. For the first time, the Order of the Arrow will be the national honor society for ALL of scouting.
We also have some exciting national programs coming up! Our first NLS/DYLC course will be coming up from February 15-17 at the Geneva Center in Rochester, IN, followed by our second course of the year from March 15-17 in Cedar Rapids, IA. We also have OA High Adventure program registrations and the OA Hackathon registration open. These are amazing opportunities that are being offered, and I highly suggest that you consider signing up for them. You may even see me at many of these events! The page to register is https://registration.oa-bsa.org/.
Thank you for keeping an attitude of innovation throughout this year of change, and I can’t wait to meet many of you at our first NLS course coming up! As said in the Walt Disney attraction the Carousel of Progress, “Theres a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow,” and I cannot wait to see the amazing things our region accomplishes over the course of this next year!
Yours in the Brotherhood,
