Lodge of the Week: Sac-N-Fox #108 Section C-3A

Sac-N-Fox lodge #108 from Section C-3A hails from Waterloo, Iowa out of the Winnebago Council. They have around 200 members in the lodge and their lodge totem is the Fire.

Lodge Chief Noah Harvey discusses the traditions of the lodge.

“Annually, the Lodge hosts LOW 16a Winter Banquet, Spring & Fall Fellowship, and Lodge Executive Committee Elections. It is tradition in the lodge to open and close the summer camping season by participating in a Spreading & Gathering of the Ashes from the first and last summer camp, campfire programs to tie each year together. The ceremony starts off by explaining the history behind our lodge and how we have adapted over the last century. Our Callout Ceremony is specifically special because we have a full time horse program that we include in our ceremonies with the Mighty Chief,” said Harvey.

What makes Sac-N-Fox Lodge standout according to Harvey is the fact that it is a small lodge. “We may have smaller numbers than the lodges and councils around us but we are strong in youth leadership and the participation with National, Section and Lodge events,” said Harvey. Even though they may be small in numbers, that doesn’t mean that they are small in  representation in the Order of the Arrow as a whole!Show 3-1

The primary summer camp of Sac-N-Fox is Ingawanis Adventure Base in Waverly, Iowa.  Chief Harvey speaks out about what makes their summer camp stand out from the rest.

“Ingawanis Adventure Base is in its 93rd year of operation. Home to scouts across 17 counties in NE Iowa, the adventure base houses a full-time, year round horse program which is unique to our area. In addition, within the last couple years a brand new COPE & Climbing Course has been added and activity programs have been extended to include a pedalcCar track for Cubs & Webelos and a mountain boarding c 54270e5c6e0cd.imageourse for our Boy Scouts and Venturing Units. Ingawanis Adventure Base is full of history, tradition, and new program initiatives which makes it a premier camp for program of all types,” said Harvey.
