Favorite Scouting Experience

• In 2007 I was Patrol leader for one of the Mackinac Island Scout Service Camp patrols. We were in charge of raising the flags on one of the fort entrances. We began the week fumbling with the haliards, raising the flags out of unison, marching out of step etc. but, over time, we coalesed into a very functional unit. By midweek, we were able to raise the flags perfectly in unison and our marching was a thing of beauty. I never felt more satisfaction from being a leader as I did that week.
