I have been in scouting since being a Tiger Cub. I officially became a member of Troop 304, Traer, IA in 2006. In the troop, I served as Scribe for one year, ASPL for six months, and I served as SPL for two years. Following my term as SPL, I was asked to become a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster as well as the OA TR. I have continued to serve in both positions up until 2012, when I turned 18. I currently serve as an Assistant Scoutmaster in the troop.

I was inducted into the OA at the age of 12, in 2007. I then completed my Brotherhood in 2008, and I was selected for my Vigil Honor in 2010, only four days after receiving my Eagle Scout. I served as the Tamaha Chapter Vice Chief of Elections and Promotions from 2009-2010. I then served as the Tamaha Chapter Chief from 2010-2012, and currently serve as the Chapter Development Seminar Trainer for my chapter. On the lodge level, I served as Elections and Promotions Chair from 2010-2011, Elangomat Chair from 2010-2011, and as an Event Chairman from 2011-2012. On the Section level, I served as the Training Chairman from 2012-2013, and I was just elected the Section Secretary this year. I am also serving on the Region Publications Team and National Publications Team, currently.

I have attended Northern Tier, Florida Sea Base, the 2010 Nat’l Jamboree, Ookpik, NOAC 2012, and I served on the 2013 Nat’l Jamboree OA Service Corps. I have also attended NLS and SOS.

For awards and honors, I received two religious medals, the Ad Altaire Dei, and Pope Pius XII. In OA, I was selected as a Jim Gooding Arrowman Award recipient in 2009 (Lodge Award), Arrowman of Achievement recipient in 2011 (Lodge Award), and the Founder’s Award in 2012. In school activities, I was a State Champion in Iowa Class 3A Football in 2011, and I was also an Iowa Individual-Senior Division Future Problem Solving Program State Champion in 2011. I then competed in the international competition a few months later, and placed in the top 15 in the Individual-Senior Division of Future Problem Solving Program International (FPSPI). I also was involved in mixed choir, bass choir, the Union Station Show Choir, and the Union Carolers. I also competed in Reader’s Theater, Group Improvisation, Ensemble Acting, and Musical Theater for Large Group Speech Events. I also played tennis and kick-boxed, in addition to football. I was also on the National Honor Society, and had over 500 hours of volunteerism throughout my high school years. I was recently selected for a National Philanthropy Day Award in the Gift of the Heart: Youth Award category.

I am currently going to school at Wartburg College studying Secondary Education with an Emphasis in Mathematics and Spanish. I am also currently involved in the Ritterchor (Men’s Choir), Scholar’s Program, and the NCAA Division III Tennis Team.
